For family counseling services, we recommend
Conjoint Counseling. Conjoint Counseling can be effective for both families and
couples. Conjoint Counseling offers two counselors working with a family or a
couple.
As two therapists meeting with
the couple we see our role as providing a supportive, emotionally safe
atmosphere in which people can grow and change.
Two therapists working with the family
or couple provides a balance. We join with the family or couple to identify what
challenges and stresses the relationship.
We believe that all
individuals in a relationship are responsible for creating the discord as well as the
harmony in their relationship.
The focus of work is on the
strength of the family or couple, improving communication and an invitation to each person
to participate, address and change what prevents the relationship from
moving towards a more loving and effective relationship.
Our belief about couple
relationships is that two people come together in friendship
and love to gain a greater measure of happiness. Each person can grow
as a result of loving one another.
Conjoint Couples' Counseling is
appropriate for:
-
Families who want to improve
their relationship.
-
Couples who believe their
relationship is in crises and desire to stay together.
-
Couples who are divorcing and strive to disconnect in
an atmosphere that respects one another, their new role as co-parents or
to address the grief that accompanies change.
